MIG: synergic, single and double pulse. Stick with pulse. TIG DC with HF and lift start, single and double pulse, sharp / soft / sine wave. Do not let "multi-process" fool you. The TIG on this machine belongs next to dedicated TIG boxes that cost a lot more.
Aluminum is MIG or pulse MIG. This machine is DC TIG only — no AC TIG. If you need AC TIG for aluminum, this is not the right fit. We would rather tell you that up front.
For new steel, filler from your local welding supply works just fine. Cast iron is a workflow: preheat, weld, peen, post heat, cool slowly. Pulse Stick lets you run rods rated for flat and horizontal out of position. Load the wire. Hook the gas if the process needs it. Follow the screen. Weld.
Runs off a standard engine-driven welder/generator — 220/240 V, 40 A receptacle. 10,000 W recommended for full output. Acts as your suitcase feeder, your HF TIG with foot pedal, and your Stick machine — all without a second box on the truck.
Over-the-counter wire will run. Rockmount is what this machine is optimized around when the metal is cracked, dirty, dissimilar, unknown, or already welded once before. ZILA is an authorized Rockmount dealer.
